Electrolysers

AGE electrolysers are based on alkali technology and have been developed for industrial applications with particular focus on safety, reliability as well as improved efficiency making them the ideal solution for an effective conversion of renewable energy sources into hydrogen. Special care in the fabrication has been devoted to the security devices, in order to achieve very a high degree of safety. The operating parameters of the electrolyser are continuously supervised by special control logic capable of recognizing possible running defects, stopping and reverting the unit to a fail-safe condition in case of malfunction. AGE electrolysers feature the “zero-pressure stack” technology for the direct production of hydrogen at high pressure.

Through this distinctive technology, hydrogen delivery pressure can reach values as high as 50 bar without the need of installing a dedicated booster compressor. Ease of operation makes AGE electrolysers usable with limited and simple training thus significantly reducing operating costs. A control panel allows operating the machine in a very simple way through a local HMI, based on touch screen, or by remote control from anywhere through GSM/modem/LAN communications. AGE Electrolysers have an extremely compact design allowing containerized solutions even for large units (up to 150 Nm3/h).

Operations

Several operating modes are available to satisfy all possible customer’s requests and needs.

  • Manual: operator starts, stops or pauses gas production manually
  • Automatic 1: “storage refilling” gas production automatically starts and stops when the pressure of a tank moves below a settable threshold or move above a settable threshold
  • Automatic 2: “constant flow/pressure” gas generation is regulated automatically between 10% ÷ 100% of max production capacity to keep a constant output flow/pressure
  • Service: special functionalities for service and maintenance purposes can be activated
Safety and Certifications

The hydrogen plant is built using the most advanced control techniques and is supplied with CE certificate in compliance with the following directives:

  • 97/23/CE (PED)
  • 94/9/CE (ATEX)

The essential health and safety requirements are assured by compliance with the following European regulations:
